God is Triune
God exists in three persons: God the Father, God the
Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit.
- God the Father created and sustains us. He is the
source of all truth, hope love, and justice.
- Jesus Christ, Gods Son, became human so that
we could see who God is and what God expects of us.
He died to pay the penalty for our sins and then rose
bodily from the grave to demonstrate his authority
over all things.
- The Holy Spirit is God continuing to be with us.
He guides us, convicts us of sin, assures us that
we are Gods children, and gives us gifts of
ministry.
The Bible is Authoritative
The Bible is from God, completely true, and tells us
who God is, who we are, and how we are to live. The
Good News of the Bible addresses the spiritual, physical,
emotional, and societal needs of humankind.
The Gospel is to be Proclaimed
Each person is lovingly created in Gods image
and, therefore, has great value, but all people have
been tragically separated from God by sin.
Salvation is Gods plan of restoring us to a relationship
with Him through the sacrifice of Christ. We accept
salvation by confessing our sinfulness, and receiving
Gods forgiveness through faith in Christ, which
must result in living in obedient faith.
The Church is Christs Priority
The Church is made up of everyone who has trusted Jesus
as Savior. Within the Church, people worship God as
well as love and care for each other. The Church is
Christs primary instrument for accomplishing His
purpose on earth.
History is Purposeful
The place of the Church in history is to follow Jesus
in extending the Kingdom of God. This includes proclaiming
Jesus as Savior and Lord, working for social justice,
and the relief of human suffering, so that people are
prepared for Gods judgment and eternal reign.
